Proctor & Gamble announce 7,000 job cuts in growth strategy plan

P roctor & Gamble( P & G) has revealed it expects to reduce up to 7,000 non-manufacturing roles, or approximately 15 % of its current non-manufacturing workforce over the next two years.

The plans are part of the company’ s growth strategy, and it said:“ As always, employee separations will be managed with
support and respect, and in line with our principles and values and local laws. Specific impacts by region or site are not available at this time.”
The company, which owns Pampers, Ariel and Pantene, to name a few, said it if focusing on three main areas; portfolio choices, supply chain and organisation design.
It plays to exit some categories, brands and product forms which will be announced in the months ahead, and these moves will enable the business to make related interventions in its supply chain to drive efficiencies, faster innovation and cost reduction.
The organisation design relates to the job losses and also to digitisation and automation.
The update was presented by Andre Schulten, Chief Financial Officer, and Shailesh Jejurikar, Chief Operating Officer, from P & G at the 2025 Deutsche Bank Global Consumer Conference.
They said that consumers face greater uncertainty, competition is fierce, the geopolitical environment is unpredictable and technology is rapidly transforming nearly every aspect of daily life.

Wisk and JAL Engineering sign MoU with City of Kaga to accelerate advanced air mobility in Japan

A dvanced Air Mobility( AAM) specialist Wisk Aero has signed a three-party MoU with The City of Kaga, Ishikawa, Japan, and Japan Airlines’ subsidiary, JAL Engineering to establish opportunities for introducing autonomous air travel in Japan.

Wisk is developing the first autonomous, passenger-carrying electric vertical takeoff and landing( eVTOL) air taxi in the US.
Hiroki Haraikawa, Vice President of Marketing & Sales, JALEC, said:“ This three-way partnership will play a central role in realizing autonomous AAM in Japanese society.”
Riku Miyamoto, Mayor of Kaga City, said:“ Kaga City will strongly support the establishment of an operations base and support the construction of an AAM operation model in collaboration with JALEC.
Designated by the Japanese government as a national strategic special zone. Kaga City has established the Next-Generation Air Mobility Consortium in Japan – making Kaga City an ideal location for the development, testing and validation of autonomous air mobility.
“ Not being a big city like Tokyo or Osaka there is a high degree of freedom as a research and development field – and one-stop arrangements are possible.” �
Sebastien Vigneron, CEO, Wisk, said:“ Japan is a key market for the introduction of AAM and Kaga City’ s forward-thinking approach to future mobility, coupled with its special zone designation, provides an ideal environment for us to explore and demonstrate the benefits of our Gen 6 aircraft. This partnership is a significant step towards building the necessary ecosystem for autonomous flight in Japan.”
