Project Speedbird , a collaboration between LanzaJet , British Airways and Nova Pangaea Technologies , secured £ 9 million ( US $ 11.2M ) from the Government ’ s Advanced Fuels Fund . The funding supports LanzaJet , a leader in converting ethanol to Sustainable Aviation Fuel ( SAF ), and NPT , a UK-based CleanTech firm working on advanced biofuels for SAF , to expand global production , advancing aviation decarboniSation . This follows substantial investments from International Airlines Group and British Airways in NPT and Project Speedbird earlier this year .

LyondellBasell confirms its investment in Wesseling , Germany ’ s pioneering industrial-scale catalytic advanced recycling demo plant . Using the MoReTec technology , it converts post-consumer plastic waste into feedstock for new plastics with a net zero emissions goal . The 50,000-tonne capacity targets recycling plastic waste equivalent to that of over 1.2 million Germans annually , with construction concluding by 2025 .
