Smart Cities Are the Future of Urban Living

M ore than half of the world ’ s population is urbanized , meaning they live in or around a city . And , by 2050 , more than two-thirds of the global population ( 68 percent ) is expected to live in an urban area . 1 In order to meet the demands of a growing ( and increasingly technologically savvy ) population , cities around the world are using technology to transform themselves into smart cities that run more efficiently and improve the lives of their citizens .
